You must pre-register for all classes by providing your complete name, mailing address, area code and telephone number. Please note that no childcare is available at any of these classes.
Region 2 North Trainings
So You Have Your First Placement..Now What?
This class is mandatory for all newly licensed foster parents (licensed after 10/15/2011). It will help you to become familiar with your regional policies and provide you with a refresher on topics discussed at your pre-service training. Includes information on: Procedure & Paperwork, Medical & Dental Care, Meetings & Court Proceedings, Mandated CPS Reporting, Allegations & Investigations, and Miscellaneous Information. This is an excellent class for both new and experienced caregivers.

Parenting Plus is a mandatory comprehensive 36 hour training course designed for foster parents, adoptive parents and kinship/relative care providers. The six module topics include: Self Concept/Cultural Competence/Seperation & Grief, Child Development, Sexual Behavior Problems, Discipline, Physically Aggressive Children and Youth and Teaming/Assertiveness/Self-Care.

Rick brings a unique style of presentation both creative and engaging when speaking and thinking about helping children to manage their behaviors. You will develop skills how to manage children with behavioral challenges in a non-violent crisis intervention manner, understand that all children are uniques and thereby plans for verbal de-escalation have to be developed on a one-to-one basis.
