Region 3 Fostering Together Staff
We have community-based Liaison/Recruiters in Southwestern Washington from Clark to Clallam Counties. As experienced foster/adoptive parents, they are all available to help you through the licensing process by answering your questions about foster care/adoption, connecting you with trainings and resources, assisting you with your licensing application packet and providing any other assistance you may need to make your licensing journey easier.
They are also available to support licensed and relative caregivers in their community. Whether you need help navigating the DSHS system or just want to talk to someone who understands the challenges you face as a caregiver, they are there to help you. And with community-based support groups throughout Southwestern Washington there is a group of people close to you who want to welcome you and make sure you get the support and training you need to parent the children in your care. These groups are open to all licensed families, relative caregivers and those who are considering becoming licensed.

Tristan and her husband have been foster parents for over 3 years and they currently have two children they are adopting. She is excited to help children and families by raising awareness for the need of foster parents and wants to help people see the positive impact that being a foster parent can be for their community. In her role, she also looks forward to communicating and presenting to each community the need for foster parents and support for foster children. I want to open the line of communication between foster parents and help them find answers to their questions and get the tools they need to help them feel successful in helping their kids.

Amanda has been a foster parent for four years and an adoptive parent for two years and they have adopted two children in that time. Her passion is supporting foster families, keeping them motivated and getting them involved with the local foster community in her Region. She also looks forward to helping to make sure that Prospective Foster Parents and current Foster Parents feel supported and heard and help remove barriers to families getting licensed.

Jeanie and her husband started as kinship providers and then became foster parents. Her passion for fostering developed slowly as she worked through placements, social workers and processes and realized the difference that she was making in the life of the children in her care. As a liaison, she looks forward to supporting foster families and recruiting new families by empowering people to advocate for children regardless of the circumstances. She also looks forward to helping establish support groups for parents and bio-children so that no one will ever feel isolated or alone in the work. .

I am committed to improving the lives of foster children by recruiting and retaining families that will provide a stable home that all children deserve in order to minimize the number of moves that a foster child has to make. My goal is to raise awareness about the foster care system and involve our community in supporting not only the children, but the families that care for them as well. As a liaison, Erika looks forward to impacting not only the recruitment of new foster parents, but also support and retain those families that are crucial to the stability and livelihood of our community’s foster children.

As a licensed foster parent, Brenda's intention was to take kids from 5-12 years old, but that quickly changed and she is now licensed up to 18 years old and is currently in the process of adopting a sibling group of 3. Brenda feels that every child has the right to be a kid and she looks forward to helping people through the process of getting licensed and helping current foster families find resources and support.

After raising 3 biological children and adopting 5 children from foster care, Kim turned her passion for fostering into a passion for finding other foster parents to take their place. She believes that every child needs a safe, loving, consistent home whether with a restored biological family or a fully equipped foster home. As a liaison, Kim is looking forward to providing foster parents with the support they deserve, helping them learn to support each other and helping recruit new foster parents.

Jean and her husband chose to become foster parents shortly after they discovered she could not have children of their own and realized that they did not need to look overseas to find children needing a home. They started with respite care, but quickly began to have longer term placements of children aged newborn to 18. As a liaison, Jean looks forward to connecting with others who share in her passion of helping children to feel safe and secure. She also wants to spread the message that everyone can be a foster parent – whether it be for a weekend, a few months, a year, or even becoming a forever home for a child in need.
