Region 3 North Trainings

So You Have Your First Placement..Now What?

This class is mandatory for all newly licensed foster parents (licensed after 10/15/2011). It will help you to become familiar with your regional policies and provide you with a refresher on topics discussed at your pre-service training. Includes information on: Procedure & Paperwork, Medical & Dental Care, Meetings & Court Proceedings, Mandated CPS Reporting, Allegations & Investigations, and Miscellaneous Information. This is an excellent class for both new and experienced caregivers.

Parenting Plus!

This class is a comprehensive and fun 36 hour training course designed specifically for foster parents, adoptive parents and kinship providers and is mandatory for all newly licensed foster parents (licensed after 10/15/2011). It is taught in a relaxed and friendly manner that answers your questions, while allowing you to share the joys and frustrations of caring for someone elses child. Includes information on: Procedure & Paperwork, Medical & Dental Care, Meetings & Court Proceedings, Mandated CPS Reporting, Allegations & Investigations, and Miscellaneous Information. 

The six module topics include: Self Concept/Cultural Competence/Seperation & Grief, Child Development, Sexual Behavior Problems, Discipline, Physically Aggressive Children and Youth and Teaming/Assertiveness/Self-Care.
